Pop - au - Feu Branding and Packaging Design
BRIEF
Pick a film and create a brand and packaging design for a product that solves a problem or fulfills a need for its characters. Focus on films set in another time, universe, or reality to spark imaginative and unique ideas.
Note: You're branding the product — not inventing or engineering it.
CONCEPT
The name Pop-au-feu is a gentle reimagining of Pot-au-feu — the iconic dish at the heart of The Taste of Things.
In the film, cooking Pot-au-feu is a slow, loving ritual. After Eugénie’s death, the act becomes heavy with grief — yet in the end, the main character returns to the dish, not out of duty, but love.
Pop-au-feu captures that moment: A way to keep tradition alive, to bring warmth back to the table, and to make something once slow and heavy, light and joyful again.

Inspired by Pot-au-feu, the name Pop-au-feu reimagines tradition with a playful twist.
“Pop” evokes the action of placing a pot on the fire, but also the lively, dancing character of flames — turning fire into a living presence in the kitchen.
“Au feu” connects to both the classic French dish and the element of heat and passion that brings it to life. Together, the name captures the brand’s essence: a joyful spark of tradition, reawakened for today.
INSIGHTS
Pot-au-feu was inspired by the film The Taste of Things — a story where food is more than just nourishment. It’s memory, intimacy, and love. But in today’s world, especially for high-income families, time is limited. The beauty of a dish like Pot-au-feu — with all its depth and care — often gets lost in our schedules.
So What if you could preserve the soul of a slow-cooked meal… but serve it on a weekday?
That’s the insight behind Pop-au-feu — a premium collection of ready meals and ready-to-cook options. It doesn’t just save time — it delivers warmth, quality, and joy. It lets families serve love, not just dinner.
COLOR PALETTE
The Pop-au-feu palette blends warmth, nature, and refinement — with each color reflecting a layer of the brand.
